What kind of paper do you use to make note cards?
Jeni Neale: I buy ready-cut, recycled greeting card blanks from
www.eco-craft.co.uk which are a smooth white which shows off the colours well. I also buy the corresponding cellophane bags which make the cards look rather professional.
I don’t recommend that you use artists’ watercolour paper to print on; it is usually stiffer and less pliable than the card blanks and therefore doesn’t go through the printer well. Please be aware that using alternative papers to those recommended by the printer manufacturer can invalidate your guarantee. I have ruined a printer by trying to print onto tracing paper – lesson learnt!
Audrey Richards: My husband uses matte heavyweight inkjet white card 250gsm to print on. We buy our cards in from the local hobby & craft store which come in packs of 50 with envelops and the cellophane bag. We buy from www.CraftCreations.com.
Sue Wilson: I print onto 280gsm cards.
For the studio…
