Haven Community Gardens hosts classes in botanical drawing and nature poetry

The Trustees preserve properties of scenic, historic and ecological value in Massachusetts and manage almost 25,000 acres for public use and enjoyment. A botanical drawing class and a nature poetry class begin this week. What a wonderful way to blend botany, botanical art and poetry.

    9:30 – 11:30 am
    Basics of color theory and application and fundamentals of botanical illustration are the focus of this course. Learn to mix and blend colors while drawing flowers and fruit at Rutland’s Haven Community Gardens.

    Cost: $35 members, $45 non-members (per session)

    6-8 pm
    Write and draw in your journals! Learn about the broad genre of Nature Poetry and focus on writing and the art of poetry performance. In this class, voice, form and image are considered. Some writing experience recommended.

    Cost: $140 members, $180 non-members (for 4-session course)
