The oldest non-profit on the Monterey Peninsula, the Lyceum of Monterey County is expanding its botanical art program by adult and family classes to the extensive list of hands-on learning opportunities they provide for Monterey students. The Lyceum “inspires a life-long love of learning” through its enrichment programs and academic events.

Make a personal herbarium. Historically, herbariums have been used by botanists and gardeners to preserve and catalog their plant collections. Learn about famous herbariums such as those made by Lewis and Clark, Charles Darwin and Emily Dickinson. Complete the process by constructing an artistic plant collage.
Age: 13 to adult
Cost: $30, plus $5 materials fee
Limit: 8 students
