Author and botanical artist, Ann L. DuBois, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for her second book, Plants of Life. You may recall that Ann released her first book, The Big Apples of New York: The Story of How New York State Became the Big Apple, earlier this year.
While also historical in nature, Ann’s second book will be more of a personal account about her relationship with plants. It will include thirty-eight original paintings and historical information about each plant. Drawing inspiration from resources such as Matthew Hall’s Plants as Persons, Ann explores animism (the belief that natural objects have souls) and how her relationship with plants has influenced her relationships with people.
The Plants of Life campaign is accepting pledges of $5 to $1,000. The rewards for each pledge amount varies. Please visit the Kickstarter website for more information.
Only 21 funding days remain for Plants of Life. Share information about this project with friends and colleagues.
