New Page Lists Upcoming Community Events

Look to the upper right of your screen and you will see a new tab along the top of the page. The Events tab will take you to a page where you can view ArtPlantae’s event schedule at a glance. Here is what you’ll find on this page right now:

August 2013

    Habitat for Humanity Artist Showcase Auction

    Help raise money for home-building projects and home rehabilitation projects in the Inland Empire. The 46 unique works of are created by local artists are now being auctioned off to raise money for Habitat for Humanity Riverside and the communities they serve – Riverside, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley, Norco and Corona. The auction began on August 27, 2013 and ends on September 27 at 12 PM. The winning bidders will be notified on September 28. Learn More


    Fruit: Sweet & Savory

    Saturday, August 31
    1:00 – 3:00 PM
    Join fellow gardeners and plant lovers at the community table at Aurea Vista to learn about fruit, botanical illustration and to begin your own personalized guide to plants. Participants will go home with sketches and information about different fruit types. To register, please visit the Aurea Vista or call (951) 684-1500. Limit: 6.
    Cost: $35, includes a Scripta Notes Sketchbook and fruit specimens.

    Thursday, September 5
    6:00 – 8:30 PM
    Visit Aurea Vista during ArtsWalk to view the latest creations by local artists, to buy that special someone a unique gift, or to pick up a book to read during your lunch break. Visit ArtPlantae on the lower level to contribute to the mini-mural or to create a bookmark for the new school year. Art supplies will be provided.

    UC Riverside Botanic Gardens Celebrates 50 Years

    The University of California Riverside Botanic Garden (UCRBG) is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a family garden festival. Demonstrations, lectures, a marketplace, and children’s activities are planned for this special event. The Garden is excited to announce the UCRBG Children’s Fund. Visit the festival to learn more about this new fund and how the Garden will enter its next 50 years as a teaching and educational facility promoting environmental sustainability.
