The Humboldt Field Research Institute offers professional-level natural history science seminars and learning opportunities addressing all aspects of natural history. Drawing and Painting Birds in Watercolor and Colored Pencil
May 28 – June 3, 2017
Scientific illustrator Dorie Petrochko will lead a one-week class dedicated to drawing and painting birds. Students will study avian anatomy using taxidermy mounts and skins. Nature Journaling: Pen and Ink and Color Pencil Techniques
July 9-15, 2017
Sketch the beautiful Maine coast during this one-week summer session taught by illustrator Dolores R. Santoliquido. Students will learn how to capture the personality and details of their surroundings using both words and sketches. This workshop is appropriate for all levels of experience.
