Mary has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with Honors from The Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C. and is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists. She is currently working on a research project she designed that employs the use of art in the cardiac rehabilitation process. Mary works in oil and watercolor.
- Beginning Botanical Watercolor – Saturday, September 10, 2011;
10 AM – 2 PM. Basic watercolor techniques for botanical illustration will be covered in this one day workshop. Drawing for painting, observational skills, color mixing, and glazing are some of the techniques that will be discussed. Personalized attention allows for maximal learning in this introductory workshop. Painting specimen for this class is the pansy. Cost: $50, plus $5 materials fee. Ages: 15+. Spring Hill Arts Center.
