A few other questions on your working techniques:
What kinds of lighting and studio set-ups do you use when photographing live specimens for use as baseline imagery in your illustrations?
Do you have a recommendation for macro/micro lenses?
How often do you use field photos in your illustrations?
Do you create your own set of brushes for use in Photoshop or Illustrator, or do the standard palettes offer enough variety?
