We are pleased to help the New York Botanical Garden spread the news about The Orchid Show, their 6th annual celebration of orchids opening on February 23, 2008 and closing on April 6, 2008. This year, the orchid show will feature:
- A southeast Asian-style pavilion, bursting with a multitude of tropical orchids such as vandas and dendrobiums, which are grown in Singapore
- Rare species from the Garden’s living collections that illustrate the breadth and diversity of this fascinating flower
- Orchid research by Garden scientists and a collection of rare orchid books on view in the LuEsther T. Mertz Library
- A wide range of programs for exploring orchid biology, ecology and home-growing needs through Garden workshops and classes
- Children’s programs that explore the secrets of vanilla, which comes from an orchid, at the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden
- A huge selection of orchids to choose from at the Shop in the Garden
