ArtPlantae is a resource provider whose objective is to increase botanical literacy by encouraging an interest in plants and nature through illustration. This educational website serves as a gathering place connecting artists, educators, and naturalists.

We invite you to search the pages of this growing resource and to browse the shelves at ArtPlantae Books, a companion resource specializing in books about botanical art history, botanical art instruction, botany, plant identification, economic botany, and natural history. At the store, you will also find supplies for field and studio such as a quality 4" handheld magnifier, water tubes to preserve cut specimens, and an assortment of sketchbooks in all price ranges.

Since its launch, ArtPlantae has published the newsletter Artists' Botany, launched the educational website ArtPlantae Today and launched ArtPlantae Books as a companion resource. It has also introduced the public to the connections between botany and botanical art at public events such as garden shows, environmental education fairs, literacy events, and conferences.

Our future includes the expansion of this content-rich resource and independent research addressing botany education.
